The types of findings vary between companies but often are defined by comparing improved operational processes or in some cases, identifying vendor solutions that deliver enhanced service at a lower cost. The staff is knowledgeable of many outsource services either through first hand experience or observing performance and pricing methodologies while working with the client base.
Innovative solutions are often defined that provide expense reimbursement that can be used defray certain expenses. Certain of these expense reimbursements can be accounted for as contra expense accounts, thereby, using the new found funds to reduce servicing cost rather than reporting as income.
In a typical Profit Improvement engagement, expense related profit improvements result in approximately 15% to 25% of the total engagements benefits.
Improved methods are often identified that are difficult to quantify and track actual benefit but clearly improves the internal process flow. Numerous ideas have been introduced that reduce overall call volumes but are not easily credited to the specific idea. In such instances, the concepts are shared with management without cost to the client.
